]]> Sun Mar 11 2007 Archive Room Photos http://dominic.fotopic.net/c1192868.html Work has started on the Crosville archive: Putting up brand new strong metal racking, bringing in boxes of items from various addresses / sources and sorting items into categories. Cataloguing will start in earnest soon. We have decided to purchase more racking for the room to to allow for future expansion. These photos show the state of play as at 4pm Wednesday 24th January. ]]> Mon Jan 16 2006 Cardiff 2005 http://dominic.fotopic.net/c566210.html Induction week at Cardiff for ATW Conductor post. A good chance also to capture 37's on the Rhymney Valley line, remind myself of those really rather nasty 142 and 143 units on the Valley lines and capture newly repainted 150's. Also a chance to see some rare workings on play-off final workings on Monday 30th May and capture some more routine EWS movements. There are a few other photos chucked in for good measure, including a tour of the Millenium Stadium. Monday 30 May 2005: Induction week at Cardiff for ATW Conductor post. Hughes, (a recently retired driving member of Midland Red and ARRIVA with 35 years unbroken service) set out with SLL 620 to visit some of its old haunts. Here we see it at various locations including Oswestry, Chirk, Johnstown former Crosville depot, Llanfair Caereinion and Welshpool. Saturday 19 March 2005: On 19th March 2005, myself and D.O. Former colleagues Chris Elmes and Dave Hughes meet up at Oswestry, Dave has recently retired, Chris was piloting 2307 Old and new at Oswestry At Chirk, 620 returns to former haunts Johnstown closed before SLL620 was delivered new in 1975, but doesn't it look at home outside the old depot! another shot of 620 outside the former Crosville Johnstown depot, where time has stood still for over 30 years! Outside Wrexham Station, the nearest I could get to the old Mold Road depot and find something recognisable New and old at Caego depot If 620 had lasted another 10-15 years with Crosville (then ARRIVA) it would have stood here! Mental note, remove that ruddy Bws Gwynedd sticker! Outside Meifod stores, home of local transport enthusiast Mike Lister, for afternoon coffee break! At Llanfair Caereinion in the afternoon sunshine. I think it needs a rear double N logo Sticker now removed, this could have easily been 23 years ago when loaned to Oswestry By Welshpool Station

]]> Wed Jul 7 2004 Crosville photos from the 80's - negatives I have found and scanned http://dominic.fotopic.net/c135639.html This little lot is a new album into which I am just bunging in photos I am scanning from negatives I have rooted out! In the early 1980's my camera wasn't brilliant and the small size photos I got have mostly disappeared - don't know where! Having a holiday this week I have started scanning many of these negs and have published the best ones here. I have unearthed some I hadn't realised I had got! There are more to come - these will be put in this album if scanned this week, but subsequent scans will be in a new album. Sorry there are no dates, I might be able to work out when some were taken in due course, at which point I will alter descriptions. Enjoy!
